Medal of Honor

Shogun Gamer News Wrap-Up: August 2 - August 6

Despite being the first week of August, there was surprisingly a good amount of news that was actually news worthy. Most of the time the beginning of August is an absolute dull period for gaming with next to no big releases until the latest iteration of Madden hits the masses.

EA releases the Linkin Park music video for Medal of Honor

Last week EA announced their partnership with the rock band Linkin Park to provide a song for Medal of Honor. To go along with that announcement a brief teaser trailer was released for Linkin Park’s MoH song “The Catalyst.”  Now the full music video has gone up and it’s definitely rocking out the dudebro vibe.

EA teams up with Linkin Park for Medal of Honor

I kind of thought we were past this stage, but it appears that game publishers are still signing on high profile bands to appear in their video games.  After all that is the best way to insure that a game sells 2M+ units right? I kid of course but it does work in some cases and I’m sure EA is confident their partnership with Linkin Park will pay off for Medal of Honor.

QuarterSave: The Wine-O Edition EP45

Slipping late under the “better late than never” guise, QuarterSave episode number 45 has arrived! This week’s show is a special one as we switch from our regularly scheduled beer to some Japanese plum wine brought forth from the bowels of Tokyo by our good friend Michael-Sean! Thanks Michael!

Along with our obvious alcoholism, this week we explore some of the new and upcoming titles that have released (or will be released) including: Medal of Honor’s newly launched Xbox Beta, Limbo (XBLA), and today’s release of Hydro Thunder Hurricane!

Medal of Honor reports for duty with these new screens

The Medal of Honor dudebros are back but sadly they’re beardless. I know, it’s time to shed a tear since our heroes are without their manly trademark.  But nonetheless these new screens for EA’s Medal of Honor reboot are still impressive.

New Medal of Honor trailer shows the other side of war

Besides starting what will be a new war between companies and developers, Electronic Arts is getting the jump on Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops with Medal of Honor.

[Video] Another look Medal of Honor

We’ve been in no short supply of screens for EA’s Medal of Honor reboot but finally a new trailer has been released. Just like the trailer that debut in December, we’re once again treated to the tactics and action of the Tier 1 Operators. Some of these tactics include riding ATV’s, stealth stabbing dudes, and generally being a badass while sporting a beard.

One of the many games being shown at GDC this week is EA’s Medal of Honor reboot. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen the game but EA is putting it in the spotlight this week with its GDC appearance and subsequent gameplay footage set to premiere tonight on GameTrailers TV.

Not so new but still awesome images for Medal of Honor

Besides the initial release trailer and a few magazine cover stories we haven’t really gotten a lot of media on EA’s Medal of Honor reboot. In fact it almost seems like we’ve gotten more media for the MoH inspired game that’s being made by the folks over at NeoGAF.

EA sets their release schedule for the next year

Last week was THQ’s turn to boast about their financial earnings and today it was Electronic Arts’ turn.  Overall earnings for the company were ok (they only lost a measly $82 million) but most gamers could care less about things concerning percentages and millions of dollars earned/lost as most simply care about when the games are coming out.

Medal of Honor details we kind of knew about already (Dudebro for life)

The upcoming issue of Official Xbox 360 Magazine features the recently announced Medal of Honor reboot as its cover story and the magazine was nice enough to share a few morsels of info, some of which we knew already.  OXM once again confirms that the game will take place in Afghanistan, you know instead of being set in mysterious middle-eastern country X like in Modern Warfare or 24 in an attempt to be politically correct.

Medal of Honor is going all Modern Warfare on us

After being rumored for awhile EA today announced that the once popular and mighty Medal of Honor franchise is coming back, but this time it’s ditching the WWII setting for the modern day battlefield of Afghanistan.

The game simply titled “Medal of Honor” has players assuming the role of Tier 1 Operators who are elite soldiers that are involved with highly important and volatile missions that no one else can handle i.e. they’re bad-asses.
