Mike Haggar and Phoenix Announced for MvC [CES 2011]

While CES tends to focus a little more on the hardware spectrum than the software, Capcom was kind enough to post their latest round of character confirmations this morning. Joining the fray come February 15th will be Mike Haggar (of Final Fight fame) and Jean Grey’s alter-ego: Phoenix. Along with the affirmation that both characters will be playable in the finale release of the game, a plethora of new images and a couple of new game-play videos were provided (attached below).

A knight, a soldier, a master of magnetism and a giant head join the ranks of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 [Updated with Video]

Right this very minute the New York Comic-Con is going on and of course it’s an orgy of all things geek related.  Despite the name, comic books have actually taken a backseat the NYCC as it’s all about movies, TV shows and of course gaming.  More and more video game publishers are making stops at the NYCC, one of which is Capcom. As one may have surmised, Capcom is at the NYCC to showcase Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and in typical Capcom fashion the company has announced four new characters to the roster.

Activision teases X-Men: Destiny

If the announcement of Captain America: Super Soldier didn’t get your video game/comic fan heart pumping, then maybe Activision’s announcement/teaser will.  Activision has just announced their latest X-Men game titled X-Men: Destiny.  The proper reveal of the game is set for later today, but a few tidbits have been dropped on the latest game to chronicle the mutant struggle.

Become the first Avenger in Captain America: Super Soldier

As much as Sega has improved over the past few years to bring us compelling games from partner studios like Platinum (Bayonetta, Vanquish) or revitalizing their core franchises (Sonic Colors), Sega is still miles behind on the movie game front.  Games based on movies are already notorious for being bad, or at least poorly conceived given the simply brutal time constraints developers are often given. But Sega’s offerings in the movie game genre, specifically their Marvel games, have often left a crater filled with desire and broken dreams.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Chicago Fight Night Impressions [Hands-on Preview]

Something was amiss on the near Westside of Chicago last week. It was something so huge that people from all wakes of life congregated in an almost non-descript parking lot of a seemingly abandoned red industrial building.  Regular gamers were there, comic geeks were in attendance, a few guys who looked like they walked out of a Young Jeezy video were milling about and there were even folks dressed up in costumes. So what brought all these people, some of which were in line for 5 hours, together? It was one simple yet highly awesome thing: Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

New Marvel vs. Capcom 3 trailer has action to the max

At this point I think Capcom should perhaps stop releasing Marvel vs. Capcom 3 trailers. It’s not that I’m not looking forward to the game as I couldn’t be more hyped for it. But whenever I see a new trailer or gameplay video released it’s always a sad occasion of sorts since Marvel vs. Capcom 3 isn’t coming out until next Spring and waiting for the game to come out is going to feel like an eternity.

New Marvel vs. Capcom 3 screens are pure hotness

Previously I said I would be on a media blackout when it comes to Marvel vs. Capcom 3.  I’m definitely looking forward to the game but seeing media for it and still having to wait a year until it comes out is a bit much to handle for me.  But when screenshots like this new batch are released it’s really hard not to take a look.

Get ready for Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds [Video/Screens]

I still feel like I need to pinch myself so I can wake up from this dream.  Is Capcom really making Marvel vs. Capcom 3? You bet your video game/comic book geek heart it is and it's coming out next Spring.

As was expected, Capcom has unleashed the media blitz on Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. An explanation wasn’t given for the somewhat ominous subtitle, but who cares? We can finally enjoy battles between Wolverine and Ryu once again, and I’m sure Capcom will come up with a logical albeit fluff background story.

Premier trailer for Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Today Capcom has officially cemented themselves as the best video game company this generation. Previous missteps like DMC4 and Bionic Commando are now forgiven since Capcom finally gave us what we wanted: Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

We all knew MvC3 was going to happen based on reports from last week. But watching this premier trailer for the game I’m only now realizing that yes, we’re getting MvC3. OMG, complete raptor Jesus moment.

Spider-man Gets Cosmic Costume Option with Shattered Dimension Pre-Order

Earlier in the week we got the first look at the upcoming Spider-man game from Activision: Spider-man: Shattered Dimensions. A short trailer was launched showcasing two of the game’s four dimensions that will be playable, with a promise of more to be revealed later. Since then has been a bit of a slip over on the site of our good friends Gamestop. Ah, Gamestop, your blunders never cease and it makes for a great news grab.
