In the realm of video games (our realm) there are a lot of things with titles. There isn’t always a hidden message in the name, but sometimes there are great stories, an ode or even just a creation of identity. Set on a journey to explore these instances and bring them to light, I intended on creating a small portfolio of video game names and their possible hidden agendas. What grew from the idea was a full-blown exploration into the science and ideas behind anything with a name or title in this industry.

Fans of the recent release of Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds have been furiously button-mashing their little hearts out since the release of the game, but we all know that with time things can stale. To that end, Capcom has announced the DLC for their character downloads. Of course we already knew who would be coming to the party first, but today we got our first look at some of the action.

Mad Catz has revealed that the news that sparked was incorrect and that their Marvel vs. Capcom 3 FightStick is indeed coming out in the U.K.  Apparently GamingZap were talking out of their ass concerning the news that the Mad Catz FightingStick wouldn't be released in the land of fish & chips due to licensing issues.  So if you live in the U.K. and want to kick ass in MvC3 then you can pick-up the Mad Catz FightStick and have an awesome time of dishing out 55 hit combos.


Galactus Revealed as Marvel vs Capcom 3 Final Boss

If you’ve been following the site over the last week or so, you know Capcom has turned their information leak on Marvel vs Capcom 3 up to 11. We’ve gotten screenshots, character announcements, DLC news and videos up the wazoo. Today we got our “final” announcement in the form of the official announcement on MvC3’s final boss: Galactus.

Feature DLC is something that’s always been a bit of a sticking point for gamers. Adding on a particular feature is, especially if there’s a charge, is always a tricky sell. Most will assume it was locked disc-content, or a ploy to squeeze gamers for their spare change. Capcom in the past has been pretty fair about their DLC, but with today’s announcement there may be a change in the winds.

Mike Haggar and Phoenix Announced for MvC [CES 2011]

While CES tends to focus a little more on the hardware spectrum than the software, Capcom was kind enough to post their latest round of character confirmations this morning. Joining the fray come February 15th will be Mike Haggar (of Final Fight fame) and Jean Grey’s alter-ego: Phoenix. Along with the affirmation that both characters will be playable in the finale release of the game, a plethora of new images and a couple of new game-play videos were provided (attached below).

New Marvel vs. Capcom 3 screens are pure hotness

Previously I said I would be on a media blackout when it comes to Marvel vs. Capcom 3.  I’m definitely looking forward to the game but seeing media for it and still having to wait a year until it comes out is a bit much to handle for me.  But when screenshots like this new batch are released it’s really hard not to take a look.
