Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Is Capcom Preparing a New Version of Marvel vs. Capcom 3?

There was a lot of hype for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and justifiably so since gamers were craving for a sequel to MvC2 to happen at some point.  So far Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has met the expectations of gamers but in other areas it hasn’t really hit the mark since the online mode is messy and the game isn’t bursting to the seams with impressive bonus content.  But in the next year or so we could end up giving Capcom even more of our money no matter what for some more MvC3 goodness, and no I’m not talking about future DLC.

Not only was it a good week on the news front, but we had a week packed with incredible releases.  With high profile titles like Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Enslaved, NBA Jam and NBA 2K11, there’s a little something for everyone – from the lovers of action/adventure games to those who enjoy the thrill of arcade sports.

A knight, a soldier, a master of magnetism and a giant head join the ranks of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 [Updated with Video]

Right this very minute the New York Comic-Con is going on and of course it’s an orgy of all things geek related.  Despite the name, comic books have actually taken a backseat the NYCC as it’s all about movies, TV shows and of course gaming.  More and more video game publishers are making stops at the NYCC, one of which is Capcom. As one may have surmised, Capcom is at the NYCC to showcase Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and in typical Capcom fashion the company has announced four new characters to the roster.

Diifii witnesses the clash of heroes that is Marvel vs. Capcom 3

There has never been any doubt that Marvel VS Capcom 3 is a massively popular series. So when Capcom blessed the Eurogamer Expo this year with two arcade systems featuring an early demo of the game, everybody was very pleased indeed. However fans of the series may have had a bit of a hard time finding their locations at the show mainly because of the massive crowds of people that have always been surrounding the arcade systems. Capcom could have put up a few posters and signs just to indicate the location of these arcades, but I guess they decided to be modest and keep a low profile.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Chicago Fight Night Impressions [Hands-on Preview]

Something was amiss on the near Westside of Chicago last week. It was something so huge that people from all wakes of life congregated in an almost non-descript parking lot of a seemingly abandoned red industrial building.  Regular gamers were there, comic geeks were in attendance, a few guys who looked like they walked out of a Young Jeezy video were milling about and there were even folks dressed up in costumes. So what brought all these people, some of which were in line for 5 hours, together? It was one simple yet highly awesome thing: Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

New Marvel vs. Capcom 3 screens featuring Spider-Man and Wesker

At TGS Capcom finally came through for fans of Marvel vs. Capcom as both Spider-Man and Wesker from the Resident Evil franchise were announced as part of the MvC3 roster. The inclusion of Spider-Man wasn’t a big shocker, but the addition of Wesker was met with strong nods of approval from both Resident Evil and MvC fans.

Two major characters are announced for Marvel vs. Capcom 3

When Capcom announced that Tron Bonne and X-23 would be joining the roster of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 it was definitely a nice thing.  As awesome as Ms. Tron and X-23 are, gamers couldn’t help but be a little bit disappointed that Capcom’s latest roster update didn’t feature any major characters or huge fan favorites.  As much as we would like to blame Capcom, the company has once again pulled through for gamers once again with yet another roster reveal.

Two powerful female characters join the roster of Marvel vs. Capcom 3

This may be a bit disappointing for some, but as part of Capcom’s on-going TGS 2010 announcements two new characters have been added to Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Leading up to TGS there was a level of anticipation concerning the character reveals for MvC3, more so than usual since a few big heroes and Capcom characters have yet to be announced for the game.
