Killzone 3

Killzone HD Is Announced Yet Again Via The Killzone Trilogy

Originally mentioned earlier this year, the first entry of the Killzone series was set to make its debut on the PS3 – albeit in an unknown form. Not much in the way of details were given, but after suddenly being yanked from its presumed release date it was unknown what the fate was for the game, which one can surmise was a rather distressing thing for fans who wanted to play the game that started it all.

TL;DR - Feb 28 - SF Monopoly, White X360, Lionhead Teaser

Alright late-night Shogun fans! Time for another edition of TL;DR, recapping some of the days stories that either fell through the cracks, or were just too small to warrant their own individual pieces. Today I shine the spotlight on the new Xbox Special Edition announcement, Street Fighter getting its only Monopoly board game, and Lionhead’s teaser/countdown site which looks like it will end during GDC…

The Multiplayer Mode Of Killzone 3 Is Receiving A Standalone Release

I think this may be a first for a major console game, but Sony has announced that they are releasing the multiplayer mode of Killzone 3 as a separate stand-alone mode on the PlayStation Store next week.  Featuring all the content found in the full game, the Killzone 3 multiplayer release will also be a free-to-play title as it’ll initially be free to download with no major fees. So if you haven’t already entered the battle between the ISA and Helghast then maybe now would be a good time to do such a thing.

Sony Announces A New Promotion Rooted In Grooming

Sony is continuing their push at promoting their major 1st party games through mainstream products with the latest promotion being a partnership targeted for gamers who may need to shave their neck beards every now and then.  Hitting shelves this week are a series of Edge and Schick products adorned with PlayStation characters ranging from a Helghast soldier to Cole from Infamous 2. Yes, the PlayStation brand has now invaded the male grooming market.

PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter [Review]

Overall Feeling:

The PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter may not completely change the way we play games with the PS Move, but the device is a nice addition for those who like to play games with Sony’s motion controller.  While I may not have had the definitive experience when using the Sharp Shooter when playing Kllzone 3, Sony’s new peripheral isn’t just a cheap gimmick and actually has a lot of potential if the software out there is engaging.  With a reasonable price ($39), there isn’t a huge barrier of entry for the Sharp Shooter aside from the amount of worthy action centric PlayStation Move games currently available on the market.  If the amount of thrilling games increase, then the Sharp Shooter is definitely something you may want to look into if you’re an avid lover of motion gaming or want to recreate the vibe of playing arcade lightgun games.

The Pros:

+ The design of the Sharp Shooter is brilliant and doesn’t feel like a cheap plastic shell.
+ There’s a nice weight to the gun, especially once the PlayStation Move and Nav Con are inserted.
+ Holding the gun and using the Nav Con feels entirely comfortable.
+ Using the Sharp Shooter for games like Time Crisis: Razing Storm or Dead Space: Extraction is really fun.

The Cons:

- The Square and Triangle buttons are a bit small, at least for my massive fingers.
- When used with Killzone 3, I really didn’t find things to be amazing.
- I wish the secondary fire trigger had more of a click to it or more resistance, if only to prevent accidental firings during certain occasions. Rating :

A lot of things have changed over the years as we play games and the industry continues to evolve.  The games we play get bigger, better, more pleasing from a visual perspective and the way we play games has changed as well.  If you told anyone during the heyday of the PS2 era that one day we would have three different consoles that would all support motion gaming in various forms, I think someone would tell you to stop smoking whatever it was you decided to take a puff of.  But here we are, in the bright and always optimistic (ok, sometimes optimistic) year of 2011 and the v

Watch a Helghast Unbox The Killzone 3 Helghast Edition.

The highly anticipated Killzone 3 is set to raid your PS3 next week on February 22 and if you was one of the fortunate ones who was able to pre-order the Killzone 3 Helghast Edition then you can check out the unboxing video done none other by a dubious member of the Helghast.

This Is What You Get When The World of Killzone 3 Enters LittleBigPlanet 2

LittleBigPlanet 2 has only been out for a month but we’ve already seen a nice amount of user created levels that have shown the creative genius of people out there.  Whether it’s a Spider-Man mini-film or an overhead shooting game, LBP2 is pretty ace when it comes to keeping gamers entertained. Out of the many levels that are constantly added in the LBP2 community is one that I think PS3 fans may dig as it pays homage to Killzone 3.

Latest PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter Video Shows Off SOCOM 4

In just less than two weeks Sony will be launching the Sharp Shooter controller add-on for the PlayStation Move.  The first major Move add-on released by Sony, the Sharp Shooter potentially marks a big change in how we play fps and third-person action games that utilize the PS Move. For the people who don’t pay attention to plastic based console add-ons, the Sharp Shooter is a housing/controller in which the PS Move and a Nav Con can be placed inside, thus allowing the player to hold a small gun while they play games like Killzone 3 or SOCOM 4.

A Behind-the-Scenes Look At The Acting of Killzone 3 [Video]

Killzone 3 is probably the biggest game in the franchise and possibly the most action-packed game Guerrilla Games has developed.  But when the ISA aren't getting their ass kicked by the Helghast, there’s actually a story to be told in Killzone 3 which tells of an ever brewing civil war on Helghan due to the demise of Scolar Visari.

Sony Announces Killzone 3 Single-Player Demo (Internet High-Five Time!)

On the checklist of things related to Killzone 3 we have a pretty packed list.  We already have a snazzy and wallet crying Collector’s Edition, we have some cool tie-in products in the form of action figures and we have a public multiplayer “beta” set to drop before Killzone 3 is publicly available to the masses.
