New Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Trailer Shows The Multiplayer Action Front and Center

In less than a month we’re going to be to receive what could be a very special game for a whole bunch of reasons. Despite whatever feelings we may have on the current state of the franchise as it stands now, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron looks like one of the few games out there that is overwhelmingly badass looking.  Developer High Moon Studios gave us an extremely solid first outing in the form of Transformers: War for Cybertron and being able to build on top of that foundation in a full-on sequel has me in complete giddy fanboy mode.

New Trailer + Release Date For Transformers: Fall of Cybertron

As part of my July 4th vacation yesterday I decided to do a bunch of Shogun related work (yes I’m a workaholic) and eventually spend some leisurely time watching stuff on Netflix. I don’t know what compelled me to do such a thing, but seeing as how Transformers: Dark of The Moon was made available on Netflix Instant I decided to watch the movie.

Battleship: The Game [Review]

Overall Feeling:

Even with the seemingly dumb premise that’s told in the film there was still the chance that Battleship: The Game could be something fun for gamers to experience. Aside from constantly snickering and finding myself in awe from all the wrong reasons, my journey with Battleship: The Game was simply repetitive, boring, and simply made me question the motives of big companies and what they deem suitable for the video game market.  The game doesn’t have any major good merits as it’s simply akin to cardboard box, it’s exists and can be messed around with but there’s not much there to begin with.

The Pros:

+ Trophies/Achievements are easy to acquire.

+ Seeing the battles at sea while I was on the ground was a nice element.

The Cons:

- Game is simply as ugly as a barnacle.

- FPS combat is weak and the battles at sea lack any skill aside from button mashing.

- No multiplayer, bonus modes, or co-op makes the game a one and done experience.

- Story is told in such a careless way, even by the standards of dumb Hollywood action movies

ShogunGamer.com Rating :
3

Not since Street Fighter: The Movie – The Game has something so ridiculous potentially caused the fabric of space and time itself to rip as people ponder about something as endlessly as what the number 42 means.  The perplexing question at hand now is why we have a video game adaptation of Battleship: The Movie – which as you may know is a major film adaptation of a classic board game one would never expect to receive a $200 million budget.

Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron Trailer Has Dinobots, Swordfights, And Lots Of Explosions

A potential highlight of gaming this year could be Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, the latest and possibly greatest Transformers game from Activision.  Following in the steps of Transformers: War on Cybertron, this latest TF entry once again features the Autobots and Decepticons doing battle and lots of stuff blowing up in a rather glorious fashion that will in the process make TF fans even more jaded over how crappy the live-action Transformers films were.

Activision Reveals Another Transformers Game

The Transformers franchise may have been somewhat sullied by a movie trilogy that was the embodiment of dumb and abysmal (at least to fans of the original property), but at least the Transformers are still rolling out in some hopefully good video games.  Besides the forthcoming Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Activision has just announced a new Transformers game that may be geared towards the younger gamers but aren’t we all young at heart?

Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron Images Are Full Of Action And Visual Delights

Normally seeing some “in-game” screens of an announced game aren’t a big thing since there’s always a decent amount of post-processing effects to make everything look sharper than it really is. I’ll even go as far as to admit that such visual trickery has made me jaded which is why I don’t do that many posts exclusively catered to screenshots reveals.  But I have to say that my inner geek made me do a small about face since these new images for Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron are as badass as a game about giant robots engaged in war can be.

Battleship: The Movie - The Game Is Revealed (Yes, This Is Really Happening)

Today brings us news that I couldn’t have ever dreamt: Activision is publishing a video game based on the forthcoming Battleship movie.  In case you didn’t see the Super Bowl trailer that aired this past weekend, the live-action Battleship movie is dumb. In fact it’s a level of dumb that I don’t think Michael Bay has even reached (OMG, aliens are invading Earth by hiding in the ocean bro!), but for some reason I’m enamored with the movie and now we have a first-person shooter video game to go along with it.

First Wave Of Details For Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron

Last week Activision did gamers good for a change by announcing Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron, a direct follow-up to the surprisingly excellent Transformers: War For Cybertron. Once again helmed by High Moon Studios, Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron features the valiant Optimus Prime going head-to-head with Megatron as the Autobots and Decepticons battle for control of Cybertron and in the process unwillingly destroy the planet they call home.

It's Time To Roll Out Once More, Activision Announces Transformers: Fall of Cybertron

When not presented to us as a Michael Bay action movie or a horribly misguided cartoon with a girl that’s secretly a robot, the Transformers can be pretty kick ass.  Having been a part of cartoon, toy and comic book culture for over twenty-five years, the Transformers have already had a good presence but it wasn’t until 2010 that we received what many consider to be the first truly great Transformers video game.

Oh Wow, We Have A Movie Game That Could Be Good! New Trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Deep inside my geek laden heart I consider myself to be a Transformers fan. No, I’m not a Transformers fan because of the Michael Bay films or because I’ve watched some of the horrific cartoons that have been released lately. I’m basically an old-school Transformers fan who saw the G1 cartoon back in the day but then became hooked upon watching Beast Wars, which I must say is the BEST TRANSFORMERS CARTOON EVER!
