Dead Space 3 May Be Reinventing Itself [Rumor]

Last week we received some rather uneventful news from certain outlets concerning the “surprise” reveal of Dead Space 3.  Seeing a mere logo and some possible concept art from a video isn’t that much to get excited about especially since it was confirmed ages ago that Dead Space 3 was going to happen due to the huge success Dead Space 2 received (the game sold 2 million units).  But hyping up small stuff is just part of the game biz right?

The Name Game

In the realm of video games (our realm) there are a lot of things with titles. There isn’t always a hidden message in the name, but sometimes there are great stories, an ode or even just a creation of identity. Set on a journey to explore these instances and bring them to light, I intended on creating a small portfolio of video game names and their possible hidden agendas. What grew from the idea was a full-blown exploration into the science and ideas behind anything with a name or title in this industry.

The Horror Continues In Dead Space 2: Severed [Video]

I think gamers are still trying to figure out whether to fully embrace new DLC for a video game shortly after a game is released, but I think we can all agree that more of a good thing is never bad; even if it costs $6.99.  After scaring the crap out of us last month, Dead Space 2 is kicking off its first major wave of DLC with the release of Dead Space 2: Severed.

EA announces Dead Space 2 spin-off DLC

Dead Space 2 is finally available on retail shelves today, but EA has already gone and announced the first piece of DLC for Dead Space 2.  Now don’t get too upset as EA and the team at Visceral Games haven’t held back an important section or cool feature from DS2 in the hopes of making a quick buck. Instead, Visceral and EA will be offering a sequel/spin-off  to Dead Space 2 in the form of Dead Space 2: Severed for the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.

New Copy of Dead Space 2 Gets You Free Isaac Clarke Inspired Armor in Dragon Age II

In an awesome gaming cross promotion that is reminiscent of the first Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2's Blood Dragon Armor deal, Electronic Arts is at it again with the announcement that gamers purchasing a new copy of Visceral Games' Dead Space 2 will get you a free code to unlock a special set of Isaac Clarke inspired armor set for use in the upcoming Dragon Age 2 game from Bioware.

The four piece DLC armor set which is officially labeled as "Ser Isaac of Clarke" will consist of:

Dead Space 2 Launch Trailer Scares Up Anticipation

It is less than two weeks before Visceral Games and EA's eagerly anticipated Dead Space 2 is scheduled to fright up a scare on our home consoles and PC later this month.

EA released today the official Dead Space 2 launch trailer that features some new gameplay footage along with some EA's self congratulatory propaganda courtesy of random blurbs coming from some of the excellent reviews that the game has garnered already.

New Dead Space 2 Trailer and Images from Gamescon 2010

At this year's Gamescon 2010, fans who are eagerly awaiting next year's release of Dead Space 2 got a small fix on what to expect from EA and Visceral Games' Sci-fi survival horror game.

A new trailer was release called "Halo Jump" and it features our protagonist Isaac Clarke catapulting himself into space and then free falling towards a platform while evading various debris.

I have to admit this whole scene seemed kind of familiar especially when I first saw it in the X-Men Origins; Wolverine video game.

Another Dead Space spin-off project pops up

It seems like a new Dead Space spin-off/tie-in project is announced every other week and now we have yet another possible project. Uncovered by the Superannuation blog, EA has recently filed the domain name DeadSpaceSabotage.com.  Beyond that there aren’t any details on what this domain name could be for so that means it’s time for almost baseless speculation and common sense deduction.

New Dead Space 2 screens are moody, scary and gorgeous

With the constant flow of media for Dead Space 2 it almost seems like it’s slated to be released this Fall/Winter. Sadly we won’t get any new Necromorph action this year as DS2 is expected to hit retail early 2011. I know, it definitely sucks but at least EA isn’t keeping us in the dark as evident by this new crop of DS2 screens.

Terrifying new Dead Space 2 screens

It may be almost a year away from hitting consoles but so far the hype for Dead Space 2 makes it seem like the game is coming out next month.  The hype for DS2 isn’t unjustified as the franchise has provided the perfect mix survival horror and sci-fi action.
