Canadian Video Game Awards Winners

Yesterday saw the return of The Canadian Videogame Awards, for the second year in Vancouver (accompanying Fan Expo) and its fourth annual run (in total). The show was bigger and better than ever, running much more smoothly then we experienced last year and with a greater focus on the hype of it all. Participation from the audience was encouraged, and the whole thing just felt a little more loose and fun than last year.

Fans of Shogun Gamer are probably already aware that we are a (primarily) Canadian site. That means we’re big fans of touting the talent of the hard-working Canadians in the video game industry, and that we tend to follow the Canadian Video Game Awards with eager anticipation. Last year we had the privilege of attending the show, which was a blast and finally shone the spotlight on some well-deserved Canadian talent.

Canadian Videogame Awards 2012 - Opinions, Wrap Up and Winners

Last night saw the return of the Canadian Videogame Awards, for its third year. Now a part of Vancouver’s Fan Expo, the show (as described by Victor Lucas) has found itself a more permanent home. The CVAs have been growing via leaps and bounds since their inception, three years ago, with major changes to this year’s show including host David Hayter, and being broadcast on National TV.

To further express our countries amazing video game developers, we here in Vancouver hold an annual Canadian Video Game Awards show. This show is filled with development superstars and high profile press/entertainment icons. The second annual CVGA's took place the eve before we kicked off the Canadian Games Conference. Here is the list of the winners and nominees followed by my romp through the Canadian Games Conference.
