Anarchy Reigns

Bayonetta Set To Appear In The Western Release Of Anarchy Reigns

It may have taken roughly a year and a half for the game to finally hit our shores, but the brawler that is Anarchy Reigns is still a thing that will actually see the light of day.  Gamers in Japan may have been lucky to have the game since July, yet for some reason Sega decided to delay the game from releasing in the west until 2013, January 2013 to be exact as per the last major update that was given.

Anarchy Reigns May Finally Have A NA Release Date/Price

At long last a North American release date may have finally been given to the Platinum Games produced multiplayer brawler that is Anarchy Reigns. There may be a sense of déjà vu with this news considering that we’ve already had two “release window” confirmations for Anarchy Reigns, but this latest date for the game could be the one that sticks.

Anarchy Reigns Receives New Western Release Window

Usually I like to question the business practices of certain video game publishers as some truly idiotic moves can be made. Things like not promoting a game to its fullest (I’m looking at you Sony), or a publisher essentially sending a game to die in a crowded release window are just some of the things that slowly result in gamers getting pissed off in one way or another. But on this fairly easy going Monday some news has arisen that may please those who have been looking forward to Anarchy Reigns.

Anarchy Reigns Gets Three New Character Additions

Absent from any kind of public or tradeshow spotlight since E3 last year, Anarchy Reigns is indeed still coming out this year as it was spared in the great Sega Slaughter of 2012.  The multiplayer based brawler may be one of the many games that will slip under the radar of people for a variety of different reasons, but for those out there who haven’t forgotten about the game you may be happy to see this update.

TL;DR - Mar 22 - Bayonetta, Dust 514, Alan Wake 2

My apologizes for the brief (week) and unplanned hiatus of TL;DR. The good news is that it’s back, and hopefully will retain its nightly-routine for the foreseeable future. There’s been a lot that’s happened since I’ve been gone, but I’m not going to bother playing catch-up on all of it. Instead, let’s just pick up from today shall we? : Bayonetta has been announced as joining in with Anarchy Reigns. There’s a rumor about Alan Wake 2 making an appearance on the Xbox 720, and there was some live footage of Dust 514 that was shown today.

Bayonetta Creator May Announce/Release New Game In 2012

If 2012 is indeed the end of the world as per the Mayan calendar then it ought to be a glorious year in every possible way. Aside from getting amazing movies such as “Prometheus”, “The Dark Knight Rises”, and “James Bond: Skyfall” we’re also going to receive some blockbuster video games.  Titles like GTAV may not be a lock for 2012, but possibly receiving Metal Gear Rising, a new God of War game, Halo 4, and new IP like Overstrike, 2012 will make 2012 an excellent year for gaming.

Anarchy Reigns Finally Receives A Firm Release Date

Platinum Games may now be busy working on the revamped Metal Gear Rising, but we best not forget about their other key 2012 release: Anarchy Reigns.  We haven’t seen Anarchy Reigns for a while and that could be attributed to the sudden delays the game has faced. After being bumped from Fall 2011 to January 2012, Anarchy Reigns was once again delayed to an unknown date, an occurrence which of course didn’t inspire immediate hope amongst gamers.

Fans Of Fat Guys Wearing Bondage Gear Should Like This New Anarchy Reigns Character

At one point I had thought Anarchy Reigns would have a rather small character roster but that obviously isn’t the case since we have yet another character reveal.

The Revolver Equipped Durga Joins The Cast Of Anarchy Reigns

Anarchy Reigns already has a rather extensive character roster that consists of cyborgs and general sci-fi badass types but a new chap has entered the fray that I think could give everyone else a run for their money.  Generally speaking Anarchy Reigns will have a rather serious and straightforward story in the single-player campaign but Platinum Games is clearly putting all their energy into the personality of the characters which are far from being tame.

Anarchy Reigns Is About As Serious As You Can Get In This New Trailer

Japanese developers can be slightly schizophrenic in what sort of tone their games have.  One minute we may have a gripping cutscene detailing the power struggle or grip someone has over an organization but then the next minute we have a fart/diarrhea joke (yup, I’m looking at you Hideo Kojima).  Sometimes having these slight shifts in tone can work or bring some much needed light heartedness to an otherwise serious subject that can be too dreary for some.
