Early Details On Activision's Subscription Based Call of Duty Service

The day that gamers have been dreading has finally come to become a painstaking reality.  After learning that Activision was looking into an extensive online service for the Call of Duty franchise, specifically the initiative being headed by the COD Beachhead team, gamers wondered what sort of madness would be bestowed upon Call of Duty’s cherished multiplayer modes.  Well on the heels of E3, Activision has revealed a few early details on their new online initiative and I think the news may cause a revolt of sorts amongst the gaming masses.

Modern Warfare 3 Trailer Finally Hits, Has Lots Of Explosions And Epic World Ending Action

You may have seen this already by now, but Activision has released the first entirely in-game trailer for Modern Warfare 3.  The premier of the MW3 trailer is of course a big deal considering the popularity and overall stature of the Modern Warfare franchise, but it’s a big deal since we all know about the drama that went down at Infinity Ward last year, which as a whole called into question whether MW3 would be worth checking out.

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Escalation [Review]

Overall Feeling:

Escalation feels like a map pack. It’s nothing that stands out and yells “Hey you, yeah you with the face. Come play me.” Fans of the franchise will enjoy the maps, but if you’re not a hardcore Call of Duty player you might want to think twice when it comes to buying it.

The Pros:

+ Graphically the map pack is beautiful.
+ Call of the Dead is a welcome addition to the zombie scene.
+ Voice acting in the game was spot on with the addition of Hollywood talent.
+ The audio score provides great detail to the surrounding environment.

The Cons:

- The maps are pretty generic and are underutilized.
- Overall it felt as if it was rushed out to make bank.
- Gaming depth isn’t there for non-hardcore players. Rating :

We are now into Treyarch’s second map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops. The DLC was made available yesterday exclusively for the Xbox 360 thanks Activision being run by Satan... Can I even say that? I don’t want to upset the Dark Lord.

Treyarch Assembles their Hollywood Zombie Killing Team

Much like vampires, zombies have become a staple in modern pop culture. Since the dawn of video games, the undead have imprinted their footsteps in the history books. Call of Duty is no exception.

Treyarch and Activision have finally announced the last puzzle piece to their forthcoming DLC for Call of Duty: Black ops. Sticking with the usual DLC format, Escalation will feature four new multiplayer maps and what we now know as Call of the Dead.

Escalate The Fight In Black Ops

After only mere months, Call of Duty: Black Ops will be receiving new downloadable content May 3, if you have an Xbox 360.

Escalation will offer five new maps, including four multiplayer maps and an “epic zombie experience.” The announcement came from Treyarch’s Community Manager Josh Olin via Twitter today.

Fist-Bump or Bitch-Slap: Status Quo or EA Sports

This is the love/hate relationship between the video game industry and myself. Every week I will pick someone who gets my Fist-bump for doing a good deed, someone who gets my undesirable Bitch-Slap for doing something wrong (or just something that pisses me off), and I'll share my experience/opinion along the way.

First Details And Trailer For Spider-Man: Edge of Time Look Good But My Spider-Sense Isn't Tingling Just Yet

Spider-Man is back in yet another action filled web slinging video game adventure this year in the newly announced Spider-Man: Edge of Time.  Last week Activision filled us in on a few of the big bullet points for Edge of Time, the biggest of which were that we would have two playable versions of Spider-Man( Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099) along with a plot that involved Spidey getting killed.

The Name Game

In the realm of video games (our realm) there are a lot of things with titles. There isn’t always a hidden message in the name, but sometimes there are great stories, an ode or even just a creation of identity. Set on a journey to explore these instances and bring them to light, I intended on creating a small portfolio of video game names and their possible hidden agendas. What grew from the idea was a full-blown exploration into the science and ideas behind anything with a name or title in this industry.

Activision Announces Its New Spider-Man Game

After teasing us of the impending announcement, Activision has finally announced the next Spider-Man game, Spider-Man: Edge of Time.  Set for release later this year, the latest Spider-Man game is once again coming to us via Beenox, who also developed the spectacular Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and are currently Activision’s dedicated Spider-Man development studio. Following the formula that seemed to work so well in Shattered Dimensions, Spider-Man: Edge of Time will cast players in the role of two different versions of Spider-Man; most notably the Spider-Man 2099 version.

Spider-Man's Next Adventure Is Set To Be Unveiled Shortly

When it came to the superhero genre it seemed like Activision was slightly changing their ways.
