Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified (PS Vita Game) Set To Debut At Gamescom

In the off chance that you’ve been living in a cave for the past few weeks or are generally oblivious to most things, the wonderful event that is Gamescom is kicking off next week. A smaller scale version of E3 centered on the European gaming market, Gamescom has always been the home of key announcements and reveals despite the show growing smaller in past years. So far we haven’t heard much in the way of rumored Gamescom announcements from those set to attend, but one thing that will be making its long awaited debut is Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified.

New Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Trailer Shows The Multiplayer Action Front and Center

In less than a month we’re going to be to receive what could be a very special game for a whole bunch of reasons. Despite whatever feelings we may have on the current state of the franchise as it stands now, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron looks like one of the few games out there that is overwhelmingly badass looking.  Developer High Moon Studios gave us an extremely solid first outing in the form of Transformers: War for Cybertron and being able to build on top of that foundation in a full-on sequel has me in complete giddy fanboy mode.

What We Want From Deadpool: The Game

Finally! Deadpool is getting the spotlight in his own stand-alone title and it looks awesome. So how would it work? Well as a lifelong Deadpool fan, I've collected comics, figures and hell, I even have a Lego Deadpool cosplay costume. Long story short, let me shed some light on what High Moon Studios has in the works.

Latest 007 Legends Trailer Shows Off On Her Majesty's Secret Service Mission

At long last Activision has released the second trailer for 007 Legends, the new James Bond game which sees five classic Bond films updated to fit the Daniel Craig era Bond.  The reason this new trailer for the game is worth noting is because it gives us our first look at the mission based upon On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, a Bond film that many fans consider to be one of the best ever released.

New Trailer + Release Date For Transformers: Fall of Cybertron

As part of my July 4th vacation yesterday I decided to do a bunch of Shogun related work (yes I’m a workaholic) and eventually spend some leisurely time watching stuff on Netflix. I don’t know what compelled me to do such a thing, but seeing as how Transformers: Dark of The Moon was made available on Netflix Instant I decided to watch the movie.

007 Legends Preview [E3 2012]

2012 could be one of best years for the suave spy that is James Bond since we’re not only getting the third Bond film starring Daniel Craig but we’re also receiving 007 Legends, the latest Bond video game which takes classic era Bond and has it retrofitted to fit today’s modern sensibilities.

A Classic James Bond Film Is Set To Be Featured In 007 Legends

So far the concept of 007 Legends has a decent number of people interested in the project but learning that Moonraker was the first of five movies to be retold in the project left a lot of us scratching our heads. Among the many classic James Bond films that have been released the only list that Moonraker deserves to be on is those that rank the worst Bond films or the ones whose potential was never reached.

Will Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified Give The PlayStation Vita A Much Needed Boost?

So far the PlayStation Vita hasn’t exactly been a booming success right out of the gate. While most console launches are far from perfect for a variety of reasons (defective hardware, limited supplies, poor software), the Vita hasn’t been a flop but it hasn’t lived up to the success Sony has had when launching prior consoles.  The low sales numbers the Vita received in Japan have been particularly distressing considering the solid software line-up Sony put together which catered to a variety of tastes and interests.

Early Details On Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified

E3 2012 is officially in the books and it’s only just now that Activision has decided to release the first, albeit sparse, details on Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified.  The debut of the CoD franchise on the PlayStation Vita, Black Ops Declassified could’ve been a huge moment for both Sony and Activision at E3 but for some reason both companies decided to downplay the game and effectively break the hearts of Vita owners and CoD fans.

Battleship: The Game [Review]

Overall Feeling:

Even with the seemingly dumb premise that’s told in the film there was still the chance that Battleship: The Game could be something fun for gamers to experience. Aside from constantly snickering and finding myself in awe from all the wrong reasons, my journey with Battleship: The Game was simply repetitive, boring, and simply made me question the motives of big companies and what they deem suitable for the video game market.  The game doesn’t have any major good merits as it’s simply akin to cardboard box, it’s exists and can be messed around with but there’s not much there to begin with.

The Pros:

+ Trophies/Achievements are easy to acquire.

+ Seeing the battles at sea while I was on the ground was a nice element.

The Cons:

- Game is simply as ugly as a barnacle.

- FPS combat is weak and the battles at sea lack any skill aside from button mashing.

- No multiplayer, bonus modes, or co-op makes the game a one and done experience.

- Story is told in such a careless way, even by the standards of dumb Hollywood action movies

ShogunGamer.com Rating :
3

Not since Street Fighter: The Movie – The Game has something so ridiculous potentially caused the fabric of space and time itself to rip as people ponder about something as endlessly as what the number 42 means.  The perplexing question at hand now is why we have a video game adaptation of Battleship: The Movie – which as you may know is a major film adaptation of a classic board game one would never expect to receive a $200 million budget.
