Six Months Later... Call of Duty: Black Ops II

For the last few years there has been one ever constant element in the ever changing, and sometimes tumultuous, industry that is the video game biz: modern warfare shooters.  Once an occasional occurrence in the previous console generation, that of the PS2 and Xbox, modern warfare shooters came to prominence once Infinity Ward and Activision decided to forgo the somewhat stale WWII formula and bring the Call of Duty series to the 21st century.

TMNT: Out of the Shadows Trailer Shows Nice Action and Scary Looking Mikey

The paradox that is TMNT: Out of the Shadows has appeared once again, this time to show off what the game will offer.  Even though there was initially a level of excitement to see what Activision would do with their first TMNT game, such a sentiment quickly faded upon seeing the somewhat oddly devised, yet still intriguing, premise that Out of the Shadows is aiming to offer.

First Detail on Next Call of Duty Game, CoD: Ghosts

What once was believed to be nothing more than a salacious and possibly fake rumor now has some credibility behind it.  Teased last month was news that the next Call of Duty game would be called CoD: Ghosts.  A fairly unassuming name, though unexpected given the belief that it would be Modern Warfare 4, details were then sprouted that the game would have new elements to the MP mode along w

The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct [Review]

Overall Feeling:

Developed with the best of intentions, it’s clear that Terminal Reality wanted to do something special in The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct but couldn’t under the guise of the powers that be.  Such a scenario has ultimately resulted in a game that has interesting elements such as survival gameplay which includes survivors who can be left to die or thrive, but such a thing is coupled with dull level design and combat that is clunky and poorly designed.  Fans of The Walking Dead will likely be disappointed with what Survival Instinct does, but those wanting to experience a different type of zombie FPS should at least rent the game or pick it up once it’s in the $5 bargain bin.

The Pros:

+ Norman Reedus delivers a solid voice performance as Daryl Dixon.
+ Some of the survival gameplay/survivor elements are interesting.
+ The game is short.

The Cons:

- Combat is painfully dull and doesn’t feel that good.
- Level design is built around fetch quests that have contradictory design logic.
- Graphics are way below average.
- This isn’t the game fans of the series deserve.

ShogunGamer.com Rating :
4

When a video game is bad word quickly spreads about just how terrible it truly is. In this social media powered era it’s somewhat shocking that in a span of a day or two the reputation of a game, or developer in the case of Sweet Billy, can be tarnished since gamers are indeed an ever chatty and analytical bunch.

Fast & Furious: Showdown Officially Announced By Activision

Remember that one time when a new Fast & Furious game was seemingly outed by an EB Games Australia online listing? Well since then, and the listing page being mysteriously removed, Activision has officially announced the game and yes, it’s coming out in less than a month.

New Fast & Furious Game Set To Arrive Soon

Our dreams may finally be close to becoming a reality since a game based upon the Fast & Furious franchise is seemingly upon us.  Starting out as a mere street based racing film way back in 2001, the Fast & Furious franchise has gone on to become one of the premier action film franchises due to stories and scenes that are so dumb and insane that it’s hard not to find them appealing.  Now the ever chiseled visage of Vin Diesel may be appearing in a new Fast & Furious game from none other than Activision. Yup, good old Acti is at it once again.

TMNT Game From Activision Is Revealed, Looks Overly Gritty

Confusion may be abound upon seeing the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game from Activision.

Activision Interested In TNA Wrestling Game [Rumor]

The WWE may finally have some competition when it comes to the world of video games. While the WWE recently wrapped up a contract which will see all future games representing the brand published by Take Two Interactive, one of the last competitors in the wrestling world may be gearing up for a video game comeback.

Six Months Later: Transformers Fall of Cybertron

Once again a game has fallen under my critical eye to be analyzed for yet another installment of Six Months Later. As some of you may already know, the whole point of the reoccurring Six Months Later feature is to look back on games that either went under the radar or those that perhaps were looked upon with rose tinted glasses - perhaps so much so that some glaring flaws were left unnoticed.

Bungie Shows Us Their Destiny

After opting to forgo their almost pre-determined path of being the latest development studio to enter the yearly installment route, Bungie has finally unveiled their new project.  Over three years in the making, Destiny is the latest FPS from the makers of Halo and it could go on to become the next big thing in the world of gaming. Either that or it’ll be this generation’s equivalent to Daikatana.
