A Nightmare on Elm Street

Freddy Krueger cosplay pics and his review of A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010 midnight premier

Overall Feeling:
An interesting reboot of the origin of Wes Craven's original Freddy Krueger that is ultimately dragged down due to poor casting and weak dialogue exchanges.
The Pros:
A fresh spin on the original storyline that drives Freddy. Great "dream world" transition and visuals. Fantastic performance by Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger.
The Cons:
Horrible casting of Elm Street teens. Weak acting creates some terrible dialogue exchanges that are on par with a high school play. Ruined a classic scene with cheesy CG. Freddy's face is more realistic, but not as memorable as the original.

When I originally heard that A Nightmare on Elm Street (ANOES) was being remade, I was a mess. I didn't know whether to flip my desk over or do a happy jig. So I did the only logical thing I could think of to reduce my potential disappointment of this film. Dress up as Robert Englund's classic portrayal of Freddy Krueger and go see the midnight premier with all of Vancouver's hardcore ANOES fans. This way, at least everyone there would have original Freddy's shoulder to cry on at the end of the film.

Premier trailer for A Nightmare on Elm Street may leave you wishing it was a bad dream

I’m not a big horror movie fan but one series that I always enjoyed and watched as a kid was the A Nightmare on Elm Street series starring the iconic Freddy Krueger.  It must’ve been the design of Freddy and his whole striped sweater, hat and claws get-up that really appealed to me since at times the story went over my head since I was 4 or 5 at the time. For the most part I did understand how Freddy disposed of people through their dreams and it was pretty impressive, both from a visual and thematic standpoint.
